Susannah and her first husband, Thomas Crandall, lived near his family in Leyden, MA until his death in 1780. She then married Asa Wells two years later and raised a family in Leyden for some 30 years before moving with their younger children to Oxford, Chenango, NY in 1809. They may have moved to claim land granted to Asa for his service in the Revolutionary War, but Chenango County also happens to be where of Susannah's siblings are living in the 1810 census.
