To all people to whom these presents shall come greeting
Know ye that I Samuel Whipple of Groton in the County of New London & Colony of Connecticut for the consideration of eighteen pounds lawful money in hand paid do therefor sell grant convey and confirm unto Daniel Kenedy of Voluntown his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land situate in the North Society of Groton in Paquatanock lying south of the road that goeth to Shingle Point Beginning at the Northeast corner of Mr. James Park's land thence Southerly by said Park's Lot six rods thence Easterly three rods thence Northerly six rods to the road first mentioned thence to said Parks corner to have and to hold the said bargained and granted premises unto the said Daniel Kennedy his heirs and assigns forever and the said Samuel Whipple doth for himself and his heirs covenant with the said Daniel Kenady his heirs and assigns as follows that at the time and untill the executing of these presents I am the sole owner of the above premises and do hereby oblihe my self and heirs forever hereafter to warrant secure and defend the same unto the said Daniel Kenedy his heirs and assigns forever against all lawful claims whatsoever In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of July AD 1774. Groton July 9th - 1774 this day personally appeared Samuel Whipple of Groton signer and sealer of the foregoing instrument and acknoweldged the same to be his act and deed before Robert Gere Justice of the Peace
