!SOURCE: Email from R. Gilebarto to the Whipple Web Site, 8 Feb 1998. Gives birth 18 Nov 1744 in Ledyard, New London, Connecticut; death Oct 1819. Robin suggests that Lucretia was married to Amos Wightman, son of Valentine Wightman. Robin writes that "this might be the Isaac Wightman listed in Avery's book of Ledyard: 'Amos is listed as Issac, but other sources show it was Amos.' --R. Gilebarto, 8 Feb, 1998. On 19 May 1998, a followup email from Robin says: "Shown p. 57, 5th Bk Norwich-Lisbon. Amos Whitman is Amos Wightman, son of Valentine Wightman. Records obtained by Ledyard historical Society of Lamb and Whitman genealogies show the name Wightman was changed to Whitman." Subject of 19 May email: "Can connect marriage of Amos Whitman and Lucretia Whipple."

!SOURCE: Series of emails from Richard Kyle (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple 27 Feb-1 Mar 2004. Gives birth 1744, death 30 Jul 1814 in Voluntown, New London, Connecticut, burial in Kennedy Cemetery, Voluntown, New London, Connecticut. Richard gives compelling evidence that Lucretia was married to Daniel Kennedy. Richard writes:
The microfilms I ordered came in today. They do have enough additional information in them that I know feel I have the evidence to show that Lucretia Whipple, the daughter of Samuel Whipple and Eunice Mitchell married Daniel Kennedy, not Amos Wightman. ... Following are my findings:
- Daniel Kennedy married Lucretia Whipple 5 December 1764 in Voluntown, New London County, Connecticut. The minister that married them was from Groton. The Kennedy's were active in the church in Voluntown and there was a minister there that could have married them. The only reason I can think of that a minister from Groton came over is that Lucretia was from Groton
- Lucretia Whipple Kennedy died 30 July 1814 and is buried in the Kennedy Cemetery in Voluntown. The gravestone states that she was 70 years old at the time of her death. This places her birth in 1744. The only Lucretia Whipple born in 1744 in New London County was Lucretia, the daughter of Samuel Whipple and Eunice Mitchell born in Groton.
- Eunice was not a common name in this time period and does not exist among the Kennedy's. Daniel Kennedy and Lucretia named their second daughter Eunice, I feel after Lucretia'a mother.
- Samuel does not have a will. He had disposed of his property prior to his death by selling off parcels to his children. Right in the middle of the time period when Samuel is selling his property in Groton to his sons is a deed selling property to Daniel Kennedy of Voluntown for 18 pounds. This establishes a definite link between the two men.
