There is also an article on a Frederick C. Whipple who was the Editor of the Livingston Currier in 1843, a lawyer, native of Connecticut, graduated Union College in NY, and who came to Michigan in 1840, forming a partnership with George Washington Peck b 1818 NY, also a lawyer who held public office and who later moved to MO in 1873 after the death of Mr. Whipple. Frederick Whipple died in Oceola March 22, 1872. Several references to his public life but no mention of a wife nor children.
!SOURCE: Email from Beverly H (email hidden) to Weldon Whpple, 23 Mar 2018. "Frederick first went to New York and married there Caroline Bancroft born 1823 in Oxford, Chenango, New York the daughter of Dr. Reuben Bancroft, of Torrington CT and wife Angelina Bennett. They married June 28 1842 and had at least three children, all born in Howell, Livingston, Michigan. They are found in the 1850+ census there and Frederick consistently indicates born in CT about 1812. ... Apparently Caroline died prior to the 1870 census as Frederick is then living in a hotel in Howell MI."
