  "Mr. Amos Whipple, Sen., of Sutton, was drowned on Friday, in Whitin's Pond, in Northbridge, by falling through the ice while fishing. A grandson of his, Edgar C. Whipple, a lad of twelve years of age, was drowned in the same pond, and near the same place, some ten weeks, ago, while skating."
