Email from email hidden on 5 Nove 1997 reports that Providence Vital Records state that David Whipple, of Providence, and Hannah Travers, of Hingham, Mass., married at Hingham by Capt. Joshua Hubbard, Justice, Nov. 11, 1677. (Note that surname is "Travers"--not Tower.) On the other hand, Clarence Almon Torrey, in _New England Marriages Prior to 1700_ (Baltimore: Genealogical Pub. Co., 1985), p. 802, records: "WHIPPLE, David (-1710) & 2/wf Hannah TOWER/COWELL? (1652-1722); 13 Dec 1677, 11 Nov 1677, 13? Nov; Hingham/Attleboro/Providence." --Weldon Whipple. J. Lahr-Kreischer, in email to the Whipple Web Site on 14 Nov 1997, gives Hannah's surname as Tower.
