Highbridge. Death of Mr. Henry Wippell.
We regret to record the death at the Railway Hotel in Highbridge of Mr Henry Whipple who will be remembered by many of the older inhabitants of Bridgwater as having at a former period been associated with the Bristol Arms hotel which it may be added was built by his father. The deceased was also for some time connected with the management of the Sack Company at Langport, of which he was the chief promoter. For some time passed he has resided at the railway hotel at Highbridge where his wife a lady held in high estimation died in April of last year. Mr. Whipple was unfortunately invalided during nearly the whole time he has resided at Highbridge and for several months past has been in fact confined to his bedroom, the establishment having been satisfactory conducted by Miss Wippell one of his daughters. Mr. Wippell passed away peacefully on Monday evening last at the age of 71 years and has left a family of three sons and three daughters. One of the latter (the eldest) having married the Rev John Mitchell rector of St Sennen Cornwall.
