SOURCE: Email from Charles M. Whipple, Jr., to Weldon Whipple, 18 Jun 2004. Cites Mary's tombstone in Providence's North Burial, situated immediately to the left of Capt. John and Sarah Whipple. The tombstone reads: "In memory of Mary wife of Capt Charles Bardin youngest daughter of Col. Joseph Whipple & Alice his wife died Dec. 8 1733 aged 29 yrs & 8 mos." Charles writes: "Her husband and possible children are not buried there [in the North Burial Ground]. She could have not likely married a Scott in 1724 as he is not mentioned. As she died in 1733 the Scott children born later as shown on the genweb could not have been hers."
