!SOURCE: Email from Bob Osgood (email hidden) to the Whipple Website, 16 May 2015. Bob writes: "You show a Lewis Whipple b abt 1820 to Rufus Whipple and Philinda Oakes. Rufus Whipple did had only one wife and did not marry until 1827. Their first child was Simon Oakes Whipple b. 1828. Rufus Whipple would have only been 16 in 1820 so it is possible to have fathered a child but not probable."
!SOURCE: Email from Bob Osgood (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 17 May 2015. He writes: "I think I have traced him to the Lewis Whipple who died 26 Jun 1891 in the Grafton Co. Almshouse age 68 which puts his birth date about 1823.Y He was single, a pauper and in some way disabled.Y He is buried in Horse Meadow Cemetery, North Haverhill, Grafton, NH.Y I still don't know who his parents were but a clue may be on his headstone below his age it says Lisbon."
