Capt. William Whipple {4215}, the son of Samuel Whipple, was born in NH January 13, 1768 and died at Croydon, NH on December 5, 1852. Capt. Whipple farmed extensively and was the largest wool grower in his town. He married Judith Putnam {4218}. who died in 1863. They were the parents of nine children: Harriet, Lyman (see below), Sophia, Lyndia (sic) and Laura (twins), Mahala, Sarah, William M. (see below), and Lucy {7046}.

!SOURCE: Email from Joanne Vetter (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 4 Sep 2020: "While updating some files, I found Laura Whipple (1809-1889) listed as a daughter of William Whipple (RIN 4215) and Judith Putnam. This Laura married Lemuel Powers Cooper in 1831. Also found Laurel Whipple (1809-1889) as a daughter of David Whipple (RIN 4127) and Sally Cutting. Laurel is shown as having married Lemuel Powers Cooper. I found Lauraus death record in New Hampshire records, which state that she is indeed the daughter of William Whipple and Judith Putnam."
