GRACE E. CONGDON - Warwick, RI
08/09/2002 [Friday]GRACE E. CONGDON, 87, of Cedar Pond Drive, died Wednesday at home.
She was the wife of the late Howard S. Congdon. Born in Cranston, a daughter of the late Walter A. and Mabel (Young) Whipple, she had lived in Warwick since 1952. She had volunteered as an aide at Kent County Memorial Hospital for many years.
Mrs. Congdon was an avid bridge player, and enjoyed making porcelain.
She leaves a daughter, Nancy C. Patterson of Flowery Branch, Ga.; two sons, Jeffrey D. Congdon of Indianapolis and Steven W. Congdon of Hilton Head, S.C.; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Alan H. Congdon.
The funeral service will be held tomorrow at 1O a.m. in Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
