I have Dexter Whipple as married first to Nancy Danforth and second to Rebecca (Betsey) Wilcox. Dexter Whipple went with his brother-in-law Elisha Danforth from Connecticut to Glen Falls, NY in 1800. (Our Country, Its People (Saratoga, NY), George B. Anderson, 1988)(Note: Dexter's wives were previously listed as (1) Rebecca Danforth and (2) Nancy "Betsey" Wilcox.)From the marriage date you have for Dexter this must have been his future inlaw or perhaps the father was married to a Danforth as well and it is the earlier Dexter who went to Glen Falls. In 1820 there is a Dexter in Moreau, Saratoga, with two males under age 10, 2 ages 10 to 16.
I have Dexter's father as Dexter Whipple born Aug 25, 1760 who went from Connecticut to Moreau Mountain. Dexter Sr was the son of Levi b 9.4.1734 and wife Waite Whipple (son of Thomas).

"William Robards Jr. was for a number of years early in the century in the Commission of Peace and later was promoted to the bench. The following list of marriages performed by him throws considerable light upon the residents of the region in early days. We give merely the names of the contracting parties, without the often quaint accompanying remarks found in the docket:-.....September 11th 1803, Dexter Whipple and Rebecca Danforth, married at Joshua Danforth's."

At the "bend" there were several families very early. Dexter Whipple and Elisha Danford, brothers-in-law, came there about 1800, or 1802, from Connecticut. Oliver Hubbard, probably from the same State, was also a well-known resident there. Ichabod Hawley owned a large tract of land north from the bend, - the neighborhood where the Whipples now live, - and resided there. Mr. Andrews was an early settler with the Churchills from Connecticut.
