James Alden Roberts had been adopted by Harriet Elizabeth Whipple and Solomon Roberts. Listed on the 1900 Chicago census, he is listed as "boarder". Through DNA and research and help from new founded family members, I have finally pretty much solved the mystery. The biological mother was related distantly to the Whipples through the Weeks(Weekes) line. If you are interested in learning about this, please contact me. Thanks!
