!SOURCE: Email from Blaine Whipple to Weldon Whipple, 12 Sep 1998. Email dated 14 Mar 2000 states that Benjamin was "born in Ipswich, Essex Co., Mass. not Westborough, Worcester Co., Mass. The family didn't move to Westboro until 1734." Blaine also states that "While he was given the rank Lieutenant when he was muster master to raise troops for the Revolutionary War on the west side of the Green Mountains, I think he would prefer the title esquire."
