"Hon Levi Parker (7) was a man of far more than ordinary ability and strength of character whose life was devoted in large part ot he service of the community and state. He was the eldest son of Silas and Lydia (Whipple) born in Richmond, NH 11.1.1792. When he was four years old his father removed to Lisbon. In due time he succeeded him to the tanning business which his father established and which he conducted with ability throughout his life. He took a deep intelligent interest in public affairs and exercised a great influence for good in the community . . . selectman 1823 and numerous other town posts through 1856. . . Councilor under Governor Gilmore (Republican) at the time of the Civil War. . . Lifelong Democrat . . . a man of great piety . . . member of Free Will Baptist, later Adventist . . . noble, patroiotic, generous hearted, whole-souled man, who was ever ready to promote and further any movement for the good of his fellow men, is cherished and honored by his townsmen and his Christian character and counsel have left a strong impress upon his descendants." --From the State of Vermont, The Parker Family, Pg 617
