Crawford Greene, 1873), p. 58, gives Daniel's father as Thomas and Abigail (Jencks) Whipple. Both D. Jillson and Joanne Lahr-Kreischer (email hidden, in a note dated 20 Nov 1997), identify Daniel's father as Noah B. Whipple, Thomas' brother.
