Gazette of Nov. 26, 1774 (Arnold's VR 15:433, Providence Gazette Marriages)"; "Oliver Whipple was living in Portsmouth, Rockingham, NH in 1776 (NH Early Census Index)"; "WHIPPLE, Oliver, Esq., attorney at law, formerly of Hampton, near Portsmouth, N.H.; was a native of Cumberland, and for a time resided at Providence; at Georgetown, Va.; he slept at his office, and being missed, search was made for him, and was found dead in his office, March 30, 1813 (Arnold's VR 14:411, Providence Gazette Deaths)."
