!SOURCE: Email from Joanne Lahr-Kreischer to Weldon Whipple, 6 Mar 2002. Gives name Elizabeth, adding complete birth date.
!BIRTH: Eliza's parent's home straddled the boundary line between Cumberland, R.I., and Attleboro, Mass. "We infer that Eliza ... [was] prob[ably] born in the Cumberland portion of the house." --A. Ballou
!SOURCE: Email from Thomas Fenimore (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 12 Jun 2005. "Elizabeth never made it to the 1800 census." [Note: by 1800, the family had moved to New Hampshire, where Elizabeth is probably listed as one of two white females of age 0-9. --Weldon Whipple, citing 1800 federal census of Rindge, Cheshire, New Hampshire.]
!SOURCE: Email from Hugh Hudson (email hidden) to Blaine and Weldon Whipple, 11-12 May 2010. Cites a Stophlet family history, which gives Elizabeth's husband as David Stophlet. It confirms Elizabeth's birth date.

!SOURCE: Email from Hugh Hudson (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 26 Nov 2020. He writes:
Elizabeth Hewes Whipple...Her husband's [Preserved Whipple, Jr.] death is not recorded, although it is believed to have occurred about the year 1840 when he left Cincinnati to visit his married daughter but failed to arrive there, and was not heard of afterwards, it being supposed that he met with foul play. Lieutenant Joshua Hewes: A New England Pioneer and Some of His Descendants and a Sketch of Joseph Hewes, the Signer, Patnum, Edben p. 355, Ebook.Elizabeth Whipple, wife of David Stophlet, was the only female in this Whipple family that was married at this time. Olive Whipple, d. 25 December 1839, was unmarried. Julia Whipple lived in the Cincinnati area, died in 1889, but never married. Therefore, I am changing Elizabeth Whipple's death date to before 01 June 1840, and her place of death to Cote Sans Dressin, Callaway, Missouri, the location of David Stophlet's 1840 Federal Census.
