!RESIDENCES: Several years in Cumberland, R.I., "and was frequently employed in Providence, Newport, Warren, Boston and other places" as a ship carpenter. (Was engaged on "Old Iron Sides" in Boston for nearly a year.) Moved to Ira, Vermont, in 1808, then returned to Rhode Island, and finally returned to Vermont, where he died at 90 years of age. --I. • George Wilkinson / Born in Rhode Island / June 16, 1765 / died Jan. 4, 1855
• Lydia Wilkinson / Born in Rhode Island / May 19, 1771 [agrees with Arnold for Lydia, daughter of Christopher & Sarah Whipple] / died Sept 8, 1857 [Margaret R. Jenks says 1867, but there is no Lydia Wilkinson in Ira in the 1860 census]
  The above stones are next to one another
• Nancy [must be Nancy Whipple, daughter of Christopher and Sarah Whipple] / wife of Elias Bates / died Nov 20, 1850, aged 68 years [therefore born about 1782 which fits perfectly with the Christopher Whipple family]
• Elias Bates / died Nov 30, 1857, aged 79 years. A check of the 1850 census showed that they were both in Ira and both born in Rhode Island! [the town clerk had the dates as 1830 and 1837, but Jenks had 1850 and 1857 which is more believable based on the 1850 census]
