!SOURCE: Email from Harry ("Skip" <email hidden>) to the Whipple Website, 25 Nov 2003 cites information from 1900 and 1920 censuses that indicate that Olive "Ollie" Wornstaff was the brother of Leslie and daughter of Newton and Helen (Whipple) Wornstaff. (Helen Whipple is the sister of the Minnie Whipple given by D.V. Norris as Olive's mother.) According to Harry:
There appears to be some confusion on your pages as to parentage of Olive "Ollie" Wornstaff, who married Leroy "Roy" Howison. She & Leslie Wornstaff were sister & brother so I'd assume their parents should be same., but your site has Olive's parents as Joseph Wornstaff & Minnie Whipple. Her parents should be Newton Wornstaff & Helen Whipple.1900 census, Brown Twp., Delaware Co., Ohio "Ollie" age 7 with grandparents James Whipple 83, & Mercy A. (Slawson) 81. Also there is Leslie, age 14, and their mother, Helen 39. The 2 children and Helen are called Whipple, instead of Wornstaff for whatever reason. As Newton died a year after Olive's birth that explains why he not present. Newton died Nov. 29, 1893 Brown Twp., Delaware Co., Ohio. His birth is Sept. 26, 1861 Oxford Twp., Delaware Co., Ohio.
1920 census, Brown Twp., Delaware Co., Ohio shows same Helen Wornstaff as Mother-in law of Leroy Howison, 29 Oh-Oh-Oh. His wife Olive 27, Oh-Oh-Oh. They have son Merritt L. Howison age 5, Oh-Oh-Oh. Helen Wornstaff, mother-in-law, widowed Oh-R.I.-N.Y. Also there is Cora Wornstaff, Niece (of Leroy & Olive) 15, Oh-Oh-Oh.
Leslie Wornsraff obit has he survived by sister Mrs. Roy Iowson (error for Howison) Leonardsburg, Ohio.
