submitted by B. Wood:
CENTRAL FALLSJoseph Wood, a resident of
the West Side for the past several years, died at his home on Lonsdale avenue
yesterday morning in his 78th year. [Brian has determined the address to be
1045 Lonsdale Avenue. It is currently the site of a commercial
building.]
...Mr. Wood was born in Blackburn, England, and came to this
country when a very young boy. For many years he lived in Lonsdale, and
afterward removed to Manville, where he was foreman of the dressing department
in the mill for several years.
...Mr. Wood was one of the oldest living
members of Union Lodge, A.F. and A.M., of Pawtucket Royal Arch Chapter,
Pawtucket Council, Royal and Select masters, and Holy Sepulcher Commandery
Knights templar. In addition to his widow, he is survived by two sons, George
who is a master mechanic at the Manville Mill, and William, a druggist, of
Providence.
