!MARRIAGE: "According to the Danby, Vermont, town records, [James] was married September 9, 1784, by WILLIAM BROMLEY, justice of the peace, to PHEBE WILLIAMS, who died within a year, leaving one child, an infant daughter, which only lived three months. ... But the date "1784" is clearly an error; for according to several members of the family, he was married in 1783 to his second wife, OLIVE ROBINSON." --J. Miller
