Bethuel's previous wife died 1809, leaving several children under five years of age. He moved with his second wife (Ruth) "to Ohio in 1814, where he purchased a farm in the spring of 1815. Ruth died a few months later 1n 1815 after five years of marriage. No known children of this marriage."
