"As to Samuel Whipple, the father of Samuel D, Yhe is listed as a Rev War Soldier, Onondaga County NY (pension list) born 12.7.1751 m 3.30.1775 Sarah, the sister of Nathan Leonard, and came to Skaneateles NY shortly after his marriage.Y Source indicates he may have been the one in Grafton, Mass in Captn Kimball's Co.Y Also the source speculates that Mrs. Sarah (Whipple) Tower may have been his sister as she died in Skaneateles 1825 age 81.Y I do not know who this Sarah was unless Samuel's sister Sarah married again after her husband Spooner died in 1785.Y I believe Samuel Sr may have died about 1814 in Hamilton County as Samuel D. Whipple shows up in the court records that year in the estate of a Samuel Whipple, whose estate was administer by Sarah Whipple."
