1. This Whipple, along with brothers John and Benjamin, who came to Starkville (Dunbarton), are of the Hamilton, MA line. There are other Whipples listed residing in Dunbarton in addition to his brothers. Samuel and his brother Benjamin lived mainly at the district of Page Corner in Dunbarton and both of them prospered and were well esteemed by the town. The Whipple homesteads were improved and expanded over their lifetimes.
2. Have not been able to find an exact DOB for Samuel. There is a possiblity that the 1850 census is incorrect on his age. The 1860 census shows him to be 78 and Achsah is 74.
3. The town of Dunbarton was originally called Starkville and was taken from Hillsboro County to form Merrimack County. North Dunbarton is sometimes referred to as Bow.
