!SOURCE: Email from Janice Watrous (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 2 Jun 2007. Janice writes: "The marriage of Carrie Rowley and Oscar Wesley Whipple was on 8 Aug 1899 not on 5 Aug 1899 as is on the site. They were married in Groton, New London, CT. I have confirmed this by viewing the original marriage certificate in Groton. I can tell you that the error probably occured by someone reading the date from the index in which it surely looks like a 5 and not an 8, but the original certificate is clearly an 8." Several hours later, Janice subsequently writes: "Oscar Wesley Whipple who was born 7 Jan 1874 was born in Ledyard, New London, CT."
