Foster by Frank Avery Skilton, a genealogist of Auburn, New York, who visited the graves of Squire Benjamin Whipple [Nathan's grandfather] and his wife, Hepzebah, in Vermont, and the graves of the Reverend Benjamin Whipple [Nathan's father] and his wife, Silence, south of Sennet Corners, Cayuga County, New York.
