!CHILDREN: It is very unlikely that Matthew had any children (at least any that survived to adulthood). Blaine Whipple writes:
"Matthew's will mentions wife Martha and real estate 'which was my father, Major Whipple's' [which he] left to the three sons of his brother Capt. John Whipple. The sons were Capt. John, Deacon Nathaniel, and William. A release of all claim to the estate of 'uncle Dea. Matthew' was signed by Capt. John Whipple and wife Dorothy (Moulton). Matthew also inherited one-fourth of the Winthrop farm in Billerica purchased by his grandfather Job Lane in 1664.If they would have had children who survived to adulthood it is doubtful this real estate would have been left to nephews."
