"She was the daughter of Arnold Whipple (son of Israel & Silence Poppel Whipple) and Mercy aka Mary Ford. Arnold and Mercy are verified on daughter Lauretta "Reata" Whipple's marriage record."Martha Ann is on the 1870 Census and the Kansas State Collection Census of 1865 showing her birth in White Cloud, Donaphan, Kansas. Her gravestone is a more modern one, and has the birth year of 1854, rather than 1861 as most of the Census records indicate. Martha and Rial are both documented on Find a Grave, and family members have visited the graves verifying they are the correct ones."
