It has been suggested that this unnamed sister, "wife of Richard Rathbone" was named Marion and that the pair immigrated to New England (Walter Anson Greene and Ella Louise Geib Greene, A Greene Family History, an Account of the Ancestors and Descendants of nathan and Job Greene, Who Pioneered the Settlement of St. Albans, Vermont [Schenectady: W. A. Greene, 1981], 70-71; Whipple, "Elder" John Whipple [supra note 2], 2). No evidence has been offered for this supposition, which appears to contradict the Jan. 1627/8 burial record of widow Margaret Rathbone.[Note: The "Whipple, 'Elder' John Whipple [supra note 2],2" reference above is to Blaine Whipple's History and Genealogy of "Elder" John Whipple of Ipswich, Massachusetts: His English Ancestors and American Descendants (Victoria, B.C.: Trafford, 2004).]
