!SOURCE: Email from Norma Whipple Doolittle (email hidden) to the Whipple Website, 7 Jan 2015. Confirms death year and corrects burial place, citing her personal visit to the cemetery and the corrected information at Find A Grave, memorial #133533552. Also adds approximate marriage date. Norma writes: "There was a historical group who passed info sheets to someone who entered data without actually going to the cemetery. Took a lot of inquiries and searching but I did find the actual graves in a wooded area in a different location. The cemetery name is different and it is not actually in Clifford. Unfortunately, many folks have the old incorrect info. I have photos ... of the graves for verification. ... The Find A Grave Site has removed the incorrect ones."
!NOTE: An additional child, S. E. Whipple, was initialy input as an additional child (and sibling to Lewis E. Whipple, based on an email from Carol Broadwell to Weldon Whipple, 8 Feb 2005, in which she wrote:
Looking over a copy of 1850 census from Greenfield Township, Pennsylvania, it shows two households. One being that of Adeline C. Whipple age 43, I can't read it well and obviously her remaining children at home, Henry age 21, S.E. age 18 and my great grandmother Almina or Elmina age 10. Below that entry it shows another household with Truman age 25 and Charlotte, wife age 20. I know that Truman Sr. had a Truman Jr., so this must be the second household and his son did marry a Charlotte. Odd, but true according to Census 1850. That would mean that Truman Sr. was already dead, as I believe he did die in 1845. There was a Greenfield, Mass. listed as Adeline Charlotte Stratton Whipple's place of birth, Shelburne at Greenfield. This is confusing, because they ended up living in Greenfield Township of Pennsylvania. There must be two Greenfields.In her email to the Whipple Website on 8 Jan 2015, Norma Whipple Doolittle (email hidden) states that "There is no SE Whipple. SE is actually Lewis E. Whipple. Lewis is already in the files. He is the son of Truman Whipple Sr."
