!SOURCE: Bio of J.Q. Whipple on eBay advertisement, 31 Jan 2021: "Gorgeous Joseph Quinn Whipple Sr. (1917-2008) Wood Duck Shadow Box. JQ Whipple is a famous well respected artist. He specialized in painting these hand painted bird shadow box piaintings. He was a nationally reconized wildlife painter and sculptor. The birds are handpainted plaster of paris. The backgrounds are also hand painted. Many of his works were sold by Abercrombie & Fitch in the 50's. The frame is about 9 by 7 3/8 inches. Some foxing or staining on the glass which is very hard to see. These were sold by Stocker's in Canton Ohio. I never clean or polish vintage jewelry. I specialize in selling Estate Jewelry and art, so nothing I sell is brand new."
