!FATHER: "There are some that wonder if Judson was the son of Daniel. Daniel was traveling for business and came home to find his wife Anna with another man, he never came home again. Daniel & Anna's divorced was filed Jan 21 1875 and completed Sept 9 1875. It said that Judson never saw his father. Was this after he left them or not at all. It is unclear when Daniel left Anna if they filed for divorce right away or some time later. Judson would of been almost 9 at the filing of the divorce. It thought that Daniel died a year after the divorce. "Daniel did leave money in a trust for Judson to go to school/college on. Judson when away to school for 1 semester/year. Judson didn't like it so he return home. His half sister Phoebe used the money to better her education." --F. McKoy

Dexter, Anna, 30, b. PA {abt 1839-1840}
Dexter, Judson, 4, b. PA {abt 1865-1866}
I think Judson Dexter Whipple {67613} is the Judson Dexter above and that Anna Dexter is Anna Phebe (Dexter) Whipple {90586}, living with her father John and step-mother Lavina Dexter. {Anna's mother was named Phebe and was born in NY abt 1800-1801 as she was 59 yrs. old on the 1860 Tuscarora, Bradford, PA census, p.820.} If so, this shows that Anna and Daniel were not living together, at least in 1870 when the census was taken. The Dexter family, however, was living next to Daniel's brother Ezekiel Whipple and his family. The 1850 census indicates that all of the Dexter children were born in NY (including Phebe A.) On the 1880 census Phebe Anna/Anna Phebe Dexter is living in Tuscarora, Bradford, PA with her second husband George Hawley, their daughter Phebe A. 6 mos. Judson D. Whipple (stepson) is also living in the household.
