!DEATH: "John N. Whipple owned a farm in Wyoming County, New York State, now a part of magnificent Letchworth State Park, but then called the High Banks. One night when he was walking home he fell over the side and was killed at the age of 47. The story of falling over the High Banks is engraved on his tombstone." --J.E. Rodgers

Lyonsburg is not on any New York State map. It did not seem to be even a tiny village but just a little one room district school across the road from the cemetery and a few farms near by. ... The closest little villages are Bliss, Pike, Eagle, Centerville, or Java." "Died June 2, 47 years."
