Whipple, age 24, a farmer from Rhode Island, as head of household. His wife, Philena, age 22, from Indiana (I think she is an Isaac Sutherland daughter but haven't documentation proof yet). They have two children at this time: Harriet, 1, and John, age 3 years." --Y.J. Duckworth

Philena is on line 40, being 42 years of age, keeping house in the dwelling next to John and Olive. Two children are still with her: Sarah, age 17, and William B., age 15.........Image #17 of 29 of this same census shows a Margaret Oldenburg, 19, working as a domestic servant for the Nehemiah & Louisa Blaisdell family." --Y.J.
