!RESIDENCES: "He grew up around Ayre's Cliff, Quebec, migrated to Boston where many of his brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles were, and then to Iowa, and then to Colorado in 1886. He died in 1940. When he was 80 years old there was a terrible flood in this area, and he sat on his roof for two days before anyone could get in to rescue him." --E. Whipple
