Henry L. Whipple, Auditor General, 1842. Was a son of Major John Whipple, born in Detroit in 1816. His pursuits were official in connection with the State departments at Detroit and Lansing. He was connected with the Auditor General's office after the removal of the capital to Lansing. His politics will be inferred at Democratic from his official connection. He died in Detroit in 1849.
