!IDENTITY: "That the widow Helen Gary was the same sister named by Joan (Whipple) Jardfeld is based entirely on the likelihood of her having been the widow of William Gary and clearly should be treated with caution, as this Helen may have been a second, and later, wife. Whatever her given name, it is likely that Joan (Whipple) Jardfeld's sister, alive in 1581 at the time Joan's will was written, was the mother of William Gary's children." --W.W. Fiske, p. 208.
