HARVEY ABBOTT WHIPPLE III, 48, of Hyannis, Mass., formerly of Warren, a certified nurse's assistant, died Monday at home.He was the former husband of Kathleen A. (Parker) Whipple of Harwich, Mass. Born in Providence, a son of Dr. Harvey A. Whipple Jr. of Brewster, Mass., and the late Lesa (McNulty) Whipple, he had lived in Warren before moving to Cape Cod.
Mr. Whipple was a certified nurse's assistant at Hyannis Skilled Care, and JML Care Center in Falmouth, Mass., and had also worked for the Visiting Nurses.
He was an Army veteran, serving in Europe during the Vietnam War as a specialist 4th class. He later served in the Rhode Island National Guard as a staff sergeant before being commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant.
Mr. Whipple was a graduate of La Salle Academy, Providence, and Cape Cod Community College.
