I searched for E.N. Whipple on your site and could find no info. Here is what I know: E.N. Whipple was the first physician and also a drug store owner in Indiantown (also known as Butlerville and Montaur), Iowa in 1855-1858 and maybe later. In 1858 he and his wife won prizes at the Tama County Fair. He died in Iowa on July 23, 1873. It is possible that he was a relative of Meroah N. Whipple of Iowa who is in your data base.

Hereus why Meroah N. Whipple is presumably connected to the elusive E. N. Whipple. Meroah married Erastus R. Fish in Auburn, PA in June 1859. They must have moved out to Tama County, Iowa (where E. N. was living) shortly after that since in 1864 Erastus ran for Tama County Assessor (but lost). Their first child, Minnie E., was born there in 1868 and in the 1870 census they were registered in SIndian Village TownshipT and paid 1869 taxes on 80 acres of land near Montaur (a later name for Indiantown). So it seems very likely that they only went from Auburn, PA to the wilds of Iowa because E.N. was already living there. The 80 acres of land borders on the Sac & Fox Indian community.
