Ludlow, VT abt 1835, dau. of Horatio Pierce."

!SOURCE: Email from Beverly H to Weldon Whipple, 4 Feb 2021: "Edward Sr was a Civil War soldier, Co A., Vermont 1st Cavalry. He was wounded and taken prisoner and was at the hospital in Petersburg for more than a month until he was exchanged. After the war he returned to Vermont and attended business college. In 1866 went to Illinois, then Wisconsin for a couple years, then moved to Nebraska where he settled. He was a successful building carpenter and contractor. I found him mentioned in several publications."
