Pneumonia Fatal to J.W. Whipple
Man Long Resident of County Succumbs Tuesday, Funeral WednesdayJonathan W. Whipple, 81, died Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. T. W. Brydia. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the chapel of the Criswell Funeral Home, burial in Rosedale cemetery.
Mr. Whipple was born in Indianapolis, Ind., August 27, 1855. In 1887 he was married to Mary Imogene Wigton and to the couple were born four children, Mrs. C. E. Evans of Talihina, Mrs. T. W. Brydia of Ada, Mrs. William Donner of Tucson, Ariz., and William E. Whipple, deceased. Mrs. Whipple died in 1897.
Later Mr. Whipple was married again and had six other children, Eldo, Edwin, Vincent, Harrison Whipple, Mrs. J.O. Cruson and Mrs. Earnest Mosler. Three brothers, Ira, Grant and Henry Whipple, and 15 grandchildren survive.
In 1907 Mr. Whipple came to Oklahoma and settled near Center, farming until he lost his eyesight ten years ago. Since that time his health has been failing and he has made his home with Mrs. Brydia. Pneumonia was the cause of death.

Mrs. Bertha Evans, a sister of Mrs. T. W. Brydia, 307 East Thirteenth, died at her home in Tucson, Ariz., about noon Tuesday.She was a daughter of J. W. Whipple who resided west of Ada, near Center, for many years. Mrs. Evans lived at Talihina and was employed at the City National Bank until she retired and moved to Tucson about four years ago.
She was a member of the Baptist Church of Talihina.
Mrs. Evans leaves two sisters, Mrs. T. W. Brydia, Ada, and Mrs. William Donner, Tucson; the latter will be remembered here as Daisy Whipple.
Mrs. Evans also leaves seven nephews and thirteen great-nephews and nieces, two half-sisters, Mrs. Marvin Campbell, Bowlegs, and Mrs. Ernest Moser, California; and three half-brothers, Eldo and Edwin Whipple, both of California; and Rev. Harrison Whipple, Illinois.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Baptist Church of Talihina

Miss Bertha Whipple will arrive brom Blackwell tonight for a visit to her sisters, Misses Laura and Daisy Whipple. This will be the first time in twelve years since the sisters met and naturally they look forward with eagerness to the reunion.
