!SOURCE: Email from Michael Whipple (email hidden) to the Whipple Website, 10 Dec 2005. Adds marriage place. Michael writes: "My Father records reveal a "Certified copy of marriage record" from Ottawa County Courthouse stating 16 Nov 1843" [Previously entered in database as 1 Nov 1843.]. Regarding a son named Levi A. Whipple, listed by D.V. Norris, Michael writes:

Levi Whipple (I have not found any proof that Levi was a child of Benjamin and Susan or Ichabod and Susan) (He only appears in the 1860 census) Comparing the 1850, 60, 70 census, I believe that this was probably Aby, seeing how her name does not appear, instead of Levi. Her full name was Aby Elizabeth and this could have been Liz or something to that effect. This same 1860 census shows Henry instead of Ira A. again I believe to be an error. There are numerous other discrepancies with this census.

Also, Levi being married to an Abbey W. I believe to be false. The Abbey W. in the 1870 census (With Franklin Whipple) would be Aby Elizabeth Whipple Welch (More info on her below) with her son Smith Lindley Welch. She married in 1865 and her husband died in 1867
