He was a resident of Lansingburgh, New York according to his military papers. He was honorably discharged at the city of New York at the expiration of his term. He was issued 120 acres to which he was entitled undr the 'Act granting boundary land to certain officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the Militia States.'
According to one of the document covers, Abel Whipple was a musician. In the company mutser roll (Colden's 5 Artillery and Infantry, New York, Militia), the word 'fifer' is written in on the first two musters, and then 'drum' on the last two.
