• Lurinda VanVleck is found in the state census in Gerry through 1905 at which time she is widowed living with her daughter Sarah J. Tompsett. Lurinda is 87 and her unmarried daughter Josephine S age 46 also lives with them. Josephine continued to live with her sister Sarah
• Sarah Jane VanVleck married George Tompsett b 1839 in England. They had three children, Charles, Alice and Earl Van Tompsett. In the 1905 census (Gerry), Alice and Earl Tompsett are both unmarried still living the the parents. Charles is married and also living in Gerry.
• By 1920, the year Sarah Jane (VanVleck) Tompsett died, she and her husband George were still living in Gerry along their children, Alice and Earl V., and Sarah's sister Josephine VanVleck. After her sister died, Josephine continued to reside with her nephew Earl V. Tompsett through 1940 and passed away in 1946
