"From Cindy in Troy Union Corners Cemetery there is a grave stone that reads 'Irenia Whipple, wife of Levi d Mar 28, 1856 23y 11m 6d. Also in the book 'Marriage Records of Oakland County 1849 - 1854' it lists Levi Whipple 22/23 and Irena Surgess (note spellings of both her first and last name) 18 both of Troy married there by Stephen Goodman V.D.M. on July 4, 1849."
