!RESIDENCES: "Joseph lived in Groton, Mass., all his life. He purchased a farm of 103 acres from his brother Isaac's estate in 1723 (who had purchased it in 1721 from John Davis). The farm is in the town of Ayer. (Ayer was set off from Groton in 1871.) On this farm Joseph built a dwelling where he resided and farmed. His house was destroyed by fire in 1880 (three years after his death)." --D. Roe.
