!OCCUPATION: "On becoming of age he started in business in Boston, his name appearing in the Boston Directory of 1809 as a shopkeeper at 18 Cornhill. Later he and his brother Joel Stone were partners until 1820 in the firm of Samuel G. Williams and Co. of Boston, importing merchants." --J.G. Bartlett, p. 309
