!SOURCE: Email from Amanda Legare (email hidden) to the Whipple Website, 28 Jan 2004. Gives birth 31 Jul 1879 in Cabot, Vermont and death 23 Jul 1946 in Island Pond, Vermont. "He was a well known educator in Vermont and also quite the historian." Amanda is "putting together a newsletter for the local historical society. The source is the Vermont School Journal where Archie was a writer and contributor for ten years." The Journal's obituary says: "Loving hands bore Archie to Cabot, where he was laid away to rest in his beloved hills."
