!MILITARY: Soldier in the American Revolution. Served first as a private in Captain Jabez Ellis' company of minute-men (which marched on the Lexington Alarm, 19 Apr 1776). Later appears as an ensign in a claim for payment of wages as a soldier, dated 5 Jul 1776, following the Battle of Bunker Hill.
